NTA Appoints Senior Management Team

The NTA is proud to introduce our new senior management team to our stakeholders.

We are confident that their collective experience and expertise will lay the foundations for bold and ambitious improvements towards the establishment of a robust organisation and a relevant Vocational Education and Training regime, over the next five years.

Richwell Lukonga is our new General Manager; Operations. Richwell has been leading the NTA’s operational activities for the past two years. He joined the NTA in 2011 as Manager: Councils and Industry Engagement.

A teacher by profession, Richwell holds a B.Ed (Hons)-degree from the University of Johannesburg and a M. Sc –degree in Educational Science and Technology from the University of Twente, in The Netherlands. He also completed a Management Development Programme at the University of Stellenbosch Business School in 2012.

Sven von Blottnitz has been appointed as our new General Manager: Finance and Administration. Sven joins the NTA from Shell Namibia/Vivo where he has served as Country Finance Manager.

He holds a B. Bus. Sc. (Business Finance) from the University of Cape Town and a B. Compt (Hons)-degree from the University of South Africa. Sven is registered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Namibia; the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants; the Public Accountants and Auditors Board of Namibia; and
the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Southern Africa.

Our new General Manager: Human Resources is Bernadette Sam. She joins from fellow regulator, NAMFISA, where she was employed as Manager: Human Resources.

She holds a BA-Psychology (Hons) degree from the University of the Western Cape, which she has supplemented with a B.Ed-degree and a BA- Industrial and Organisational Psychology (Hons) degree from the University of South Africa. She boasts a wealth of experience in the areas of Organisational Development, Employee Benefits, Training and Performance Management.

Joseph Mukendwa has been appointed as General Manager: National Training Fund. Joseph joined the NTA in 2006 when it was still a Project Management Unit under the Ministry of Education.

He has served as the NTA’s Manager: Corporate Services between 2006 and 2010 and as Manager: National Training Fund from 2010 until 2012. Joseph holds a B-Accounting degree from the University of Namibia and has also completed a Management Development Programme at the University of Stellenbosch Business School in 2012.

Tomas Nekongo is the NTA’s new Company Secretary. Tomas is a lawyer by profession and holds B Juris and B Laws (LL.B) degrees from the University of Namibia. As an admitted legal practitioner of the High Court of Namibia, Tomas has amassed experience in the fields of inter alia, Criminal and Civil Litigation; Contracts and Labour Disputes.

He advises the Board of legal, governance, accounting, risk and tax implications of proposed policies. Tomas joins the NTA from local law firm, Sisa Namandje & Co.

    I thank the NTA ICT department for the upgrading of the NTA website. It appears so interesting and user friendly. I get most of the NTA general information from here. So keep it up colleagues.

      Thank you very much. In fact, it was a project under the Manager: Public Relations, Marketing & Stakeholder Engagement.
