The Namibia Training Authority (NTA) celebrated the achievements of outstanding young competitors at the NSCS2025 Monetary Awards Handover Ceremony, officially recognising Gold, Silver and Bronze medalists across 16 skill categories. The event highlighted the dedication and excellence demonstrated during the 4th National Skills Competition.

Graced by Hon. Dino Ballotti, Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture, alongside NTA leadership, industry partners and training institutions, the ceremony underscored the critical role of TVET in building Namibia’s future workforce.

A proud moment of the event was the announcement of the overall NSCS2025 Champion, Immanuel Natanael from Valombola VTC. The top exhibitors from the Skills Exhibition were also acknowledged for their contribution to showcasing training opportunities to learners.

The NTA extends its appreciation to all participants, experts and partners who helped make NSCS2025 a success, reaffirming Namibia’s commitment to skills excellence and youth empowerment.

In doing its part in changing the narrative on employee wellness and mental health, the Namibia Training Authority launched its revised Employee Wellness Policy on Thursday, 13 November 2025. In broad, the policy focuses on both the physical and mental/emotional wellbeing of employees, whereas it also propagates for the implementation of a range of supportive and proactive programmes through which to create a more engaged, satisfied and resilient workforce.

CEO, Erick Fundula Nenghwanya highlighted the importance of employee wellness in supporting overall organisational performance and efficiency. “The purpose of this policy is to establish clear and consistent guidelines that will support all employees at our Head Office and Vocational Training Centres in maintaining physical, mental, and emotional wellness. It affirms that we value a conducive work environment where everyone feels safe, supported, and respected”, he stressed

“Our wellness initiatives stand central in the establishment a productive and efficient workforce to take the NTA forward and give effect to the important work we need to do in transforming our country’s TVET sector. By fostering healthier, happier employees, we enhance morale, improve productivity, and build a workforce that is dependable and fully equipped to meet the challenges ahead”, Mr. Nenghwanya concluded.

The Namibia Training Authority (NTA) hosted a VET Levy Stakeholder Engagement at the Windhoek Country Club, bringing together leading audit and accounting firms to strengthen collaboration and promote compliance within Namibia’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector.

The session reinforced the NTA’s commitment to transparency, partnership, and building a skilled, future-ready Namibia.

In a continued effort to expand access to quality Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), the Namibia Training Authority has provided N$1 million in funding support to the Namibian Correctional Service (NCS).

The contribution will enable the procurement of tools, equipment, and machinery for accredited vocational training programmes at the Windhoek Correctional Facility, empowering inmates with practical skills in trades such as welding, joinery, clothing production, and horticulture.

Brazil has expressed its willingness to collaborate with the Namibia Training Authority and share its wealth of experience and proficiency, especially as it relates to potential strategic TVET partnerships in the development of technical and vocational skills for the energy sector.
