The Board of Directors, Management and Staff of the Namibia Training Authority (NTA) are deeply saddened by the untimely passing of the Chairperson of the Agriculture and Forestry Industry Skills Committee (ISC), Mr. Jacob Hamutenya, who succumbed in a road accident between Otjiwarongo/Otavi on the B1 Road, on Sunday, 2 March 2025.
At the time of his passing, Mr. Hamutenya served as the Regional Manager at the Ongwediva Fresh Produce Business Hub under the Agro-Marketing and Trade Agency (AMTA).
First appointed in May 2019 to serve on the Agriculture and Forestry ISC, and reappointed in July 2022 for a second term, Mr. Hamutenya served with diligence and zeal and played a pivotal role in the development and introduction of Agriculture technical and vocational qualifications and skills development plans.
NTA Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Erick Fundula Nenghwanya said the late Hamutenya’s dedication and leadership will be deeply missed.
“Jacob Hamutenya was a true and selfless servant of skills development. His contributions leave a lasting legacy. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his bereaved family and loved ones and we pray for their peace and comfort. May his soul rest in eternal peace”, Nenghwanya remarked.
