The Namibia Training Authority, through the 35% Key Priority Grant (KPG) allocation of the VET Levy, invests in prioritised training programmes at registered training providers. Training providers who meet requirements are eligible to apply for funding.
Period for Submission of Applications
The NTA request for funding submissions as to when required during the financial year through a notice (call for submission) disseminated to all eligible training providers and is subject to confirmation of the availability of the funds.
Requests received are evaluated against the following set technical criteria:
Approval of Engagement of Service Providers
The approval process makes use of committees as per the approved Delegation Framework. After all due processes, the applicants will be informed of the decisions, within sixty (60) business working days from the closing date of the submission of applications.
Appeals
A VTP may appeal against an unsuccessful grant application through the procedure described below:
The appeal will be determined at the discretion of the Accounting Authority and the decision of the Accounting Authority shall be final.
Costs covered by the Training Grant
The training grant covers full tuition fee including registration fees, consumable materials and tools utilised during the training, training manuals, prescribed books, assessment costs (internal & external), and trainee insurance.
Requests for funding from eligible training providers are to be submitted to the NTA in August for intakes commencing training in January/ February the following year, and March for intakes commencing training in June/ July.
