Despite the challenges and interruptions brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, the latest National TVET Assessment Round has been described as a success.

Reflecting on what has been a tumultuous year for trainers and trainees alike, the NTA’s Manager: Assessment and Certification, Mr. Moses Tjirare says although several assessments had to be postponed over the course of the year, training institutions, assessors and moderators have weathered the storm.

“At the peak of the COVID-19 lockdown disruptions, all TVET institutions were closed on a national level. Of course, these disruptions created a lot of challenges and uncertainty, not only for trainees and trainers countrywide but for the whole of the NTA’s Assessment and Certification Division”, Tjirare explained.

“Often, in managing a crisis, one has to adapt and be nimble and agile. We had to recalibrate our plans. We had to take tough decisions in adjusting our calendar and in rescheduling dates. Our venue layouts had to be reconsidered to meet social distancing requirements. We had to ensure that venues were safe and that health protocols were adhered to”, he added.

Tjirare informed that the group results will be released on the 14th of January 2022 whilst the Statement of Achievement (SoA) on the 21st of January 2022.

Trainees enrolled at VTCs or private training providers can access the group results through their respective centers. Private candidates should contact  the NTA at 061-2078 519 or 061-2078 516.
