Namibia’s High Commissioner to the Republic of Ghana, H.E. Ndiyakupi Nghituwamata has singled out Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as a key area in which to strengthen cooperation and partnership between the two countries.
On 23 January 2026, before her departure to Accra, H.E. Nghituwamata paid a courtesy call on the Namibia Training Authority, at which meeting she underlined the importance of exchange in ensuring that Namibia’s TVET system enhances quality and modernizes in line with continental and global market demands.
“Having served as a Deputy Chairperson of the NTA’s Board of Directors deepened my appreciation of the importance of the TVET sector. In taking up my new assignment, I wish to therefore embark on a deliberate effort to strengthen partnership with Ghana, whose government has over the past seven years invested heavily in introducing a range of TVET sector reforms. Namibia also stands to benefit from Ghana’s vast experience in the area of Oil and Gas training for operators, technicians and engineers”, she stressed.
H.E. Nghituwamata also singled out Ghana’s development of regional centers of excellence, specialized institutions for instructor training and a deliberate focus on incorporating digital and green technology into its TVET curricula.
On his part, NTA CEO, Mr. Erick Fundula Nenghwanya welcomed the commitment, indicating to the High Commissioner that her prospects aligned with existing efforts to intensify collaboration with TVET institutions in Ghana. “Of particular importance is a recent visit to Ghana by members of the Ministerial Taskforce to Transform TVET Centres into Colleges. Amongst others, they reported on the strengths of Ghana’s TVET system as well as the massive strategic reforms to boost enrollment through modernized infrastructure and standardized competency-based training”, Mr. Nenghwanya highlighted.
“Our TVET system stands to benefit immensely and your commitment to this agenda will help our efforts to gain stronger traction”, he added.
H.E. Nghituwamata, presented her credentials to Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Foreign Affairs Minister of the Republic of Ghana, on 18 February 2026.
