A WorldSkills Namibia delegation, led by NTA Chief Operations Officer, Epafras Shilongo took part in WorldSkills Shanghai 2026’s Competition Preparation Week (CPW), in Shanghai, China, from 2 to 5 February 2026.

The week focused on the preparedness of member countries who are to partake in the 48th WorldSkills Competition which takes place in the Chinese harbour city from 22 to 27 September 2026.

The official opening of the One School One Member (OSOM) cultural exchange programme, which aims to link local schools around the Yangtze River Delta with WorldSkills member countries and regions, was one of the week’s major highlights, at which platform Namibia was formally paired with the Shanghai Experimental School.

“Namibia demonstrated its dedication to promoting technical and vocational education and training (TVET) quality on a worldwide scale by participating in the Competition Preparation Week. The delegation obtained important knowledge by taking part in site visits and preparatory meetings.” says Mr Shoolongo, Technical Delegate of WorldSkills Namibia.

The WorldSkills Expo and Conference will form part of the WorldSkills Competition Shanghai 2026 event, to be hosted at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre, the largest event centre in the world.
