WorldSkills Namibia is to stage a series of selection competitions from 21 to 22 April 2023 countrywide, as platforms through which competitors can qualify for the 3rd National Skills Competition, scheduled to take place at Ongwediva, Oshana, from 25 to 30 September 2023.
According to the Manager: WorldSkillsNamibia, Sens Shoolongo prospective competitors can opt to participate in 14 different skills, provided they meet criteria.
“The selection competitions serve as a gateway to the National Skills Competition. Only the best competitors are selected in each of the skills areas and these competitors will be the ones who compete at the national competition for the honour to become Namibia’s representative at the next WorldSkills International competition, scheduled to take place in Lyon, France, from 10 to 15 September 2024”, he remarked.
The 14 skills are:
Automobile Technology,
Bricklaying,
Cooking,
Electrical Installations,
Fashion Technology,
Hairdressing,
Joinery / Woodwork,
Plumbing & Heating,
Refrigeration & Airconditioning,
Restaurant Services,
Web Technologies /Digital Challenge,
Welding / Metal Work,
Wall & Floor Tiling as well as Mechatronics.
