The Namibia Training Authority (NTA) under its Work Integrated Learning (WIL) division, is pleased to bring your attention to a new Apprenticeship application window from 1 September 2022 to 31 December 2022 for eligible employers.

Manager WIL, Dalia Mwiya says this applies to all companies/employers planning to recruit apprentices in 2022 and 2023. NTA has been providing funding to employers to take on apprentices in different sectors since the rollout of apprenticeships in 2019.

“The decision to run the application period over 4 months underlines the NTA‘s commitment to apprenticeship while acknowledging the real financial challenges faced by employers as Namibia navigates its way post the Covid-19 pandemic.,’ explains Mwiya.

Prospective employers are required to provide practical training in the identified occupations, with required tools and equipment, and qualified mentors/personnel using knowledge of the qualification/occupations applied for.

Further to the above, organisations applying should have an established relationship with an accredited and or registered training institution.

Eligible employers should submit an application form that is attainable from the NTA website (https://www.nta.com.na/download/apprenticeship-training-employer-application-form-pdf/) and attach the certified copies/original of the following documents:

Company Registration Certificate;

CVs and qualifications of Qualified Mentors with relevant qualifications and experience; Municipality Fitness Certificate/Factory registration Certificate; Social Security Good Standing Certificate; Confirmation letter from the TVETP.

The application and certified copies of supporting documents should be forwarded to NTA Head Office in a clearly marked envelope Apprenticeship Training.
